Sound is vibration. And vibration can be felt, not just heard.
You lie down and close your eyes.
A blanket and weighted cushion can be provided to help you feel completely comfortable.
My voice gently guides you towards relaxing your body and mind. Then the first sounds begin.
Perhaps your breathing slows. Your shoulders soften. Your attention gradually moves away from everything around you and returns to your body.
Or perhaps your mind keeps talking.
Both are completely normal.
A Sound Ritual is not a performance, nor is it a meditation you have to get right.
It is a space for you. To listen, feel and receive.
What is a Sound Ritual with Astrae Māyā?
A Sound Ritual is a guided experience through sound and vibration.
I use different instruments depending on the session: Tibetan singing bowls, gongs, chimes, drums and other instruments.
My practice draws from Tibetan and Vedic sound traditions, my understanding of energy work and the chakras, as well as what I intuitively feel and perceive in the moment.
There is no fixed formula.
Every session is a meeting.
I work with sound, silence and vibration according to what feels right for you, here and now.
What are the origins and benefits of Sound Rituals?
Singing bowls and other therapeutic sound instruments have been used for centuries in different contexts of meditation, contemplative practices and relaxation, particularly within Asian traditions.
Today, sound and vibrational experiences are also being explored for their effects on relaxation, stress, mood and sleep. Sound and vibration can support the nervous system in moving towards a calmer state, gradually slowing the inner pace and encouraging deeper breathing.
A sense of physical release may follow: muscular tension can soften, the mind can slow down and falling asleep may become more natural. Sound practices are also associated with a sense of wellbeing and deep relaxation.
From an energetic perspective, Sound Rituals can also be used to work with the chakras, harmonise energy and create a sense of purification and balance, both within the space and you.
But beyond what can be measured, there is also what you experience directly: the sound, the vibration, the silence and the unique way your body responds to them.
Why try a Sound Ritual with Astrae Māyā?
Perhaps you simply need to slow down.
Or your thoughts never really seem to stop.
Maybe you are constantly stimulated, needed, connected.
Perhaps you have tried meditation, but being alone with your thoughts does not come easily.
Or you are not looking for anything in particular.
You simply want to discover what it feels like to have nothing to do for a while.
Sound can become an anchor.
A way into stillness without having to force it.
What happens during a session?
Every session begins with a moment to arrive, we get to know each other and share whatever is present for you.
You then settle into a comfortable position, usually lying down.
The sounds begin gradually.
Some are very soft. Others can feel deep, enveloping or vibrational.
There are moments of silence too.
You can close your eyes, breathe, move gently, fall asleep or simply listen.
There is nothing you need to do.
If you need to drink, want to change position, adjust your blanket or simply take a nap, do so. Your comfort comes before the ritual.
Likewise, if I would like to place a Tibetan singing bowl or crystal on your body, I will always ask for your consent beforehand.
I work with gentleness, presence and respect.
Anything shared during a session is treated with discretion and confidentiality.
What might you experience?
There is no typical experience.
You may feel the vibrations of the instruments, a sense of heaviness or lightness, warmth, tingling or a heightened awareness of your body.
Emotions, images or memories may also arise.
And sometimes, you may not feel anything in particular.
That does not mean you are doing the ritual “wrong”.
Your experience does not need to be spectacular to be meaningful.
Sometimes, simply stopping allows you to notice what was already there.
And afterwards?
You may leave with a sense of calm, spaciousness or presence.
Or simply with the feeling that you have taken a real moment for yourself.
I recommend not rushing straight back into the rest of your day.
Drink some water.
Breathe deeply.
Move slowly.
Leave a little silence around the experience. Let it sink.
My approach
My sound practice is shaped by several years of exploration and training in Sound Healing, Yoga Nidra, instruments and vibrational work.
I continue to learn, listen and grow through our Rituals together, because every person and every session is different.
Sometimes you don’t need another answer.
You simply need a space to listen.
– Maeva
Sometimes, what words cannot express can be heard through sound and felt through vibrations.
